I'm 31 years old and a mother of two girls (almost 5 1/2 and almost 2 1/2 years old).

What brings me to this forum? My eldest daughter. She recently had an IQ test. Why?
Because her kindergarten teachers thought my daughter might be gifted.
I've always thought my daughter was very bright, but I never considered giftedness.
However, some social "issues" arose at kindergarten, which led the teachers to suggest testing. I agreed, but now I'm not sure how to handle the result.

The results and the test itself were explained to me. It was also pointed out that this is just a snapshot in time and the result is difficult to interpret due to significant discrepancies between the... The results consist of individual parts.

But now my question is: How would you deal with this result? Would you take any action or leave everything as it is?
If you would take action, in what form? Encourage or challenge her?
The tester said we shouldn't worry about getting ahead of school.
She should perhaps also mention that she can already read. She taught herself. She also taught herself all the letters, both uppercase and lowercase.

I'm not really sure how to deal with the result. You know, for me, she's "normal" the way she is. What she knows, what she can do, etc.,
because I simply have nothing to compare her to.

However, I must admit that after the result, I tried to encourage her a little more, and I have the feeling—maybe I'm just imagining it—that things have been a bit more harmonious between us since then. Which isn't to say that it was disharmonious before. But certain things that used to lead to big arguments or the like now just flow smoothly.
